How it works

No spreadsheet, no budgeting homework. Three steps, then one move each payday.

1

Connect your bank

Through Plaid, read-only. Yarrow finds your paycheck, bills and debts. You check them and fix anything it got wrong.

2

Set a few budgets

Groceries, Getting around, Everything else. Yarrow shows what's left in each until your next paycheck.

3

Get your move every payday

One clear move, the plain math and why it comes next. You make the move in your bank's app, then tap “I did it”.

What a payday looks like

Bills come first. Then your budgets. Whatever is left goes to the plan, one move at a time, and you can see every number.

When something goes wrong, you hear about it first

Yarrow doesn't wait for you to open the app. It says what happened, what to pay first, and sends a notification right away.

Tight

A bill is due before payday

Electric, $164, is due TuesdayChecking is $48 short until Friday's paycheck. Move $48 from savings to checking by Monday.
Tight

Your paycheck is late

Your paycheck hasn't landed yetIt usually arrives Friday. Extra payments wait until it does. Your bills through Monday are covered.
Short

Your bills are bigger than your pay

This paycheck is $210 short of your billsPay in this order: rent, then electric, then the car loan minimum. The plan picks up again once your bills are covered.
Paused

Your income stops

No paycheck in three weeksYour plan is paused. Pay rent, utilities and minimums first. Your savings cover about five weeks of essentials.

The plan, in the right order

Every move comes from one ladder. You always pay the minimum on everything. The extra goes to the first step that isn't done yet.

The order bends to your situation. A loan with a very high rate can jump the line, and a card that creeps back up comes back into the plan.

  1. Catch up on past-due billsStop the late fees and shutoff notices first.
  2. A starter fundA small cushion, so one surprise doesn't become new debt.
  3. High-interest debtCredit cards and costly loans, highest rate first.
  4. A full safety netA few months of take-home pay, set aside.
  5. Low-rate debtCar loans and the rest, highest rate first.
  6. Your goalsWhat you're saving for, once the ground is solid.

Your bank data, handled carefully

Yarrow only works if you can trust it with the most private numbers you have. Here's what that means in practice.

It can look, not touch

Bank access is read-only through Plaid. Yarrow can't move money, pay bills or open accounts. Every move is yours to make.

Your password stays with your bank

You sign in to your bank inside Plaid's secure window. Yarrow never sees or stores your bank username or password.

Encrypted and kept in the US

Bank access tokens are encrypted, every connection uses TLS, and your data is stored on Amazon Web Services in the United States.

Gone when you say so

Delete your account and we remove your bank connections and your stored data. No ads, no data sales, ever.

Fair questions

Can Yarrow move my money?

No. Yarrow has read-only access. It tells you the move; you make it yourself in your bank's app, or skip it.

I'm already behind on bills. Is this for me?

Yes. That's who Yarrow is built for. If you're behind, catching up comes first, and Yarrow tells you which bill to pay first when there isn't enough for all of them.

What if my pay changes from check to check?

Yarrow plans on a careful estimate of your pay and adjusts when the real deposit lands. Tips, gig work and side income count too.

Is this financial advice?

No. Yarrow is a planning tool that does the math on your own numbers. It isn't a bank and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice. The decisions stay yours.
